The course will focus on the hazardous substances requirements of the WHS Act and regulations. The course will also cover the Dangerous Goods Safety Act and regulations.
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the requirements of the Dangerous Goods Regulations and Hazardous Substances Regulations
- Determine, through calculation, the requirements for licensing of premises
- Construct suitable HAZCHEM placards
- Determine the suitability of storage facilities for hazardous substances
- Determine the suitability of labels applied to hazardous substances
- Discuss the options for disposal of hazardous substances
- Apply purchasing and other administrative controls to the use of hazardous substances
- Assess the level and requirements for information, instruction and training of employees using hazardous substances
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
