The course will focus on the hazardous substances requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations, Dangerous Goods Regulations and the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.

  • Discuss the requirements of the Dangerous Goods Regulations and Hazardous Substances Regulations
  • Determine, through calculation, the requirements for licensing of premises
  • Construct suitable HAZCHEM placards
  • Determine the suitability of storage facilities for hazardous substances
  • Determine the suitability of labels applied to hazardous substances
  • Determine the suitability of storage facilities for hazardous substances
  • Discuss the options for disposal of hazardous substances
  • Apply purchasing and other administrative controls to the use of hazardous substances
  • Assess the level and requirements for information, instruction and training of employees using hazardous substances

 

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
