The Comcare-approved Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Refresher course is a one-day training program designed for elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs working in Comcare-regulated environments, including Commonwealth agencies and licensed companies.
Participants are eligible to attend this course 12 months after completing the initial five-day Comcare HSR training. The refresher program reinforces and updates participants’ understanding of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011, ensuring continued confidence and competence in performing HSR duties under the Commonwealth WHS framework.
The course focuses on maintaining a current understanding of legislative changes, strengthening practical HSR skills, and enhancing communication and consultation techniques to effectively represent workgroups. Participants will also review processes for issue resolution, incident response, and workplace improvement to support the ongoing promotion of safe work practices.
WHS Foundation is approved by Comcare to deliver both the initial HSR course and HSR Refresher training in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
